City of Austell 2025 Municipal Election

To help connect the public with candidates in municipal races, the Cobb County Democratic Committee has reviewed candidates whose values align with ours and is recommending select individuals. All candidates on this page were invited to complete a questionnaire, and responses are shared where available.

Early Voting: October 14–31, 2025
Election Day: November 4, 2025
Runoff (if needed): December 2, 2025

Early voting includes two Saturdays and one Sunday.

An (I) next to a name signifies an incumbent.

Melanie Maria Elder is a leader who blends corporate expertise with a heart for service. As a Claim Team Manager, she develops and supports teams to put customers first while driving results that matter. She also serves her community as Mayor Pro Tem and At-Large Council Member for the City of Austell, and as President of the Cobb Municipal Association, where she works alongside city leaders across Cobb County to strengthen collaboration.
