City of Kennesaw 2025 Municipal Election


To help connect the public with candidates in municipal races, the Cobb County Democratic Committee has reviewed candidates whose values align with ours and is recommending select individuals. All candidates on this page were invited to complete a questionnaire, and responses are shared where available.


Key Election Dates

  • Early Voting: October 14–31, 2025
  • Election Day: November 4, 2025
  • Runoff (if needed): December 2, 2025


Early voting includes two Saturdays and one Sunday.

Each candidate was sent a questionnaire to fill out and their responses have been published unedited. The links to their responses as well as their campaign website are listed underneath their photos. For the candidates who opted out only their photos are posted. An (I) next to a name signifies an incumbent.

Jonathon Bothers

City Council Post 3


Jonathon Bothers, a longtime Kennesaw resident, real estate broker, and community leader, is running for City Council Post 3 to put “Kennesaw First.” A husband, father, and grandfather, Bothers draws inspiration from his family’s deep roots in faith, service, and education. His priorities include fostering smart and affordable growth, improving infrastructure and pedestrian safety, and restoring public trust through transparency and accountability.

Donovan Giardina

City Council Post 3


Donovan Giardina, a doctoral candidate in Criminal Justice and Criminology at Georgia State University, is running for Kennesaw City Council Post 3 to promote safety, accountability, and community engagement. His background in research and consulting for court programs has shaped his belief that effective governance should give people opportunities to succeed.

Anthony Gutierrez (I)

City Council Post 5


Anthony Gutierrez, an EMT and current Kennesaw City Council member for Post 5, is the son of working-class immigrants whose example of perseverance and community service inspires his leadership. He ran for office to challenge unaffordable housing trends and advocate for attainable homeownership, small business growth, and modernization.
