The Georgia General Assembly begins it’s two year session on January 13 and is expected to last until the end of March. During the 40-days that they meet, representatives may introduce resolutions and bills for a vote.
During the 2023-2024 biennial legislative session, the Georgia General Assembly passed around 3,000 individual pieces of legislation.
This fast pace environment allows for some representatives in the republican majority to slip harmful bills into this stream of legislative government. These bills range from targeting vulnerable populations to eroding the foundations of democracy.
