As summer break comes to a close, Cobb County tax dollars are not being used to prep Wheeler High School for incoming students, but to play politics with a wannabe dictator.
Yes friends, convicted felon Donald Trump will be bringing operations to a halt as he and the republicans at the Cobb County School Board put on a dog and pony show inside one of our schools. While details are scarce and news of the visit has only just broken, the Cobb County Democrats are partnering with organizations across the area to mobilize a response.
“I don’t know why school leadership thought they could sneak this visit through and not expect community pushback, but believe me there is going to be pushback,” said CCDC Chair Essence Johnson. “The most corrupt and divisive president in American history has no place in our county and we will make sure we are present for a peaceful demonstration to show him that.”
“This stunt further proves to the local community that the leadership of Cobb County Schools is full of right wing leadership that needs to be purged. We all know Chris Ragsdale stylizes himself as a poor man’s Trump and surrounds himself with similar yes men. It is high time we recognize this is not an accident, but purposeful.”
And if Ragsdale is Trump, republicans like David Chastain are his chumps Johnson continued.
“We do at least recognize that board republicans weren’t dumb enough to hold this farce in Chastain’s district,” she said. “Perhaps Trump and Jon Cristadoro can discuss their recent civil court woes. They have that much in common.”
We call on our members to contact the district’s Main Office and demand they deny bringing this partisan sham to Cobb County. Their phone number is (770) 426-3300. In the meantime, prepare to mobilize.
